Life in the Temecula Valley offers endless opportunities for both residents and out-of-towners alike. The valley – defined as the area between Lake Elsinore to the north, Mt. Jacinto to the east and the San Diego/Riverside County Line to the south -- provides residents and out-of-towners access to cultural activities and community events held throughout the year.

From hot air ballooning and hang gliding to wine tasting and mud bog racing, the Temecula Valley offers a distinctive array of things to do and experience.

Old Town Temecula - This is a true “Old West” stagecoach stop, with a long history and tradition. That “Wild West” spirit has been kept alive and honed over the years creating a blend of the Old West that is still present in the rapid-growing and evolving community. There are various antique shops, home-style restaurants and events held throughout the year.

Old Town Temecula Western Days – Held each spring, visitors can experience Wild West at its best with gunfight shows, calf-roping, stagecoach rides, chili cook-offs, incredible authentic food, and entertaining music.

Temecula Rod Run -- This family fun event attracts classic car owners from throughout Southern California. Over the weekend, the city locks down Old Town from Arch to Arch to allow these classic beauties to run wild.. The Saturday Show & Shine is the day where you can get a close look at these classic vehicles and take a peek under the hoods.

Pechanga Resort & Casino -- Looking for nightlife?  This magnificent resort is California’s biggest casino. With AAA 4-Diamond amenities and services, which rival many of the Vegas’ gems, this is a must-visit Temecula Valley attraction. The resort features numerous top shelf restaurants, thousands of slot machines, spectacular poker room and a top-of-the-line dance club.

The Temecula Balloon and Wine Festival – Held each spring, this event draws huge crowds to the area surrounding Lake Skinner. The three-day event features a wide assortment of things to do and see, including live entertainment, plenty to eat and drink, balloon rides and a carnival atmosphere. On Friday and Saturday nights, the crowd gathers at the Main and Wine Stages where a dozen or so balloonists vie for their chance to be the stars of a most spectacular part of the evening - the Balloon Glow.

Wine Country -- While the Balloon Festival gets a lot of the headlines, the Temecula Wine Country features daily tours of the areas many vineyards, wine tasting, plenty of great food and even a number of Bed and Breakfast establishments for those wanting an extended stay.

Diamond Valley Lake -- Known as the “Jewel of California Lakes, this new reservoir covers 4,500 acres and has depths from 160 to 260 feet, making it an ideal spot for both coldwater and warm water fish. Located along Highway 79 in the “French Valley”, the lake offers anglers everything from bait to boats as well as access to hiking and biking trials as well as camping. Other lakes in the area include Lake Skinner, and Lake Elsinore, where water skiers and jet skiers can enjoy the great Southern California weather.

Santa Rosa Plateau -- For those who are more interested in the natural aspect of the area, Temecula is within minutes of the Santa Rosa Plateau, To the south of Diamond Valley Lake you’ll find more than 13,500 acres of open space called the Southwestern Riverside County Multi-Species Reserve. The reserve is home to at least 16 sensitive, endangered or threatened native California bird, animal and plant species.

The Promenade Mall -- If shopping is your thing, The Promenade Mall in Temecula features more than 100 associated businesses within the mall, and just as many retail outlets and restaurants providing the “one-stop shop”  for all of your shopping, entertainment, and dining desires.
