Menifee CA

Once just a stagecoach stop for passengers headed for the city of Riverside and “parts west”, Menifee has evolved into a small bedroom community located just north of Murrieta on Interstate 215. The city has grown into a thriving community of nearly 25,000 residents that just incorporated recently.

Located in Southwest Riverside County, Menifee Valley incorporates the communities of Menifee, Sun City, Quail Valley, Homeland and Romoland. The area is about halfway (an hour drive) between the cities of Riverside and San Diego on I-215, which connects with major east-west arteries to the west and east, I-10 and I-8.

Menifee Lakes

At the hub of the community are the Menifee Lakes, a system of lakes and rivers flowing from the nearby San Jacinto Mountains through Canyon Lake and eventually into Lake Elsinore. Mt. San Jacinto is part of the range that separates the Valley and the resort town of Palm Springs to the east.

The centerpiece of the development is the Menifee Lakes Country Club and four master-planned golf course communities. Over the past five years, the area has seen booming development around the courses, with new housing communities featuring fairway-front homes, large estate properties with golf course and city view tract homes, condominium developments and raw land for development. There are a few senior-only developments, the largest of which is the Oasis.

Mt. San Jacinto Community College

One of the major employers and a source for a well-educated workforce in the area is Mt. San Jacinto Community College. MSJC offers courses and programs that satisfy the transfer requirements of four-year colleges and universities. It is a single college with two campuses. One campus is in San Jacinto and one is in Menifee.

Activities Around Menifee

Recreational opportunities abound with camping, hiking, fishing, sports activities, water skiing and jet skiing, hang gliding, parashooting, and more - all just a short drive a way.

On the cultural side, many local attractions, such as the annual Summerfest, serve to keep Menifee residents close to home as do performances at the local arts theatre and concerts in the park throughout the year. The beaches, mountains, Disneyland,  Palm Springs, big city life of San Diego, and LA are all less than 1 hour away.
